top 50 albums

This started out as a top ten list for an email music discussion list, and snowballed out of proportion.

The criterion here was that the album must stand as a whole. If half of the songs are great, and the other half are so-so, it doesn't make the cut.

There's nothing here less than ten years old, because I believe stuff should stand the test of time.
